FEATURED MEMBER
Due to the activities of vehicle manufacturers, concerning
the lengthening of guarantee and service contracts, new
proactive restructuring is required by the independent market
participants in order to bind and build up the commercial
vehicle customer’s portfolio. TOP TRUCK recognised this
move early on and has continually developed the concept
further. There are three important core activities which have
taken place to support this: network development, quality
assurance in the affiliated companies, and knowledge
management.
The first COPARTS-initiated workshop congress took place
at the end of March this year. For two days in Frankfurt,
experts gave informed presentations about telematics. The
congress was aimed at both passenger car and commercial
vehicle workshops, and presented information to the
congress participants regarding the future of mobility as well
as the impact on the service business.
Get-Together
At the end of April, TOP TRUCK/G-TRUCK organised
a large TOP TRUCK partner meeting in Sinsheim near
Heidelberg. The Get-Together offered the ideal opportunity
for the exchange of ideas and experiences. Participants
were informed about system targets and highlights for the
coming year. Among others, G-Truck Media was presented
as a new communications platform for shareholders. This
holds relevant information about partners data banks and
competitor details, as well as supplier catalogues and
information. In parallel to this, TOP TRUCK market place
was introduced. This allows for a quick and informative
exchange within the partner structure.
Practical, Efficient, Modular
An organisational shelving system was developed under
the own brand CAR1 TRUCK LINE, which increases the
efficiency of the work process, thus creating a significant
decrease in the daily work. Reordering can take place
directly –the supplier uses a barcode scanner/mobile app.
The order can then be sent directly to where it is required.
Article codes are scanned directly at the goods shelving
system and then sent to the online shop. Mistakes with
product numbers or quantities are impossible. The CAR1
TRUCK LINE shelving system is the first real commercial
vehicle shelving system of its type. “From screws and nuts,
through to compressed air fittings, quick connectors and
CAR1 24 volt plugs, the entire product range has been
specially adapted to the special requirements of the target
group,” said Gerd Nettesheim, the COPARTS area manager
for commercial vehicles. The shelving system is built on a
modular basis and can be ordered with or without content.
