THINGS TO DO STONE-AGE VILLAGE
ACCOMMODATION Come and experience the naturally beautiful Summassaari
with its numerous stone-age settlements!
DINING The oldest settlement in the area is 9,000 years old, and the most recent prehistoric
discovery is an iron spearhead from one thousand years ago. The settlements in the
SHOPPING AND area have been reconstructed according to the discoveries made during the several
SERVICES archaeological digs.
Here, the Stone Age has been converted into a life-size village where you can
MAPS AND INFO experience the Stone Age lifestyle and learn about Stone Age housing, items, and
tools. The region is home to the Summanen village, the path of traps and antiquities,
and Yläkylä, where stone-age dwellings are exhibited. All destinations are based on
archaeological discoveries. The most recent stand-alone destination presents an
impact crater found in the nearby Lake Summasjärvi.
