CABLE AVOIDANCE TOOLS

Cable avoidance tools are used to locate the position of underground cables. The equipment comes with a recei-
ver and transmitter (alligator clips and clamp included).

The receiver can be used to locate a ”live cable” (50/60Hz) without the transmitter. The transmitter can be used
to feed a frequency to a dead cable (with the clamp, alligator clips or inductively), so that the receiver can detect
the cable.

Also available is the EMS (Electronic Marker System), which can be used to locate

and read EMS antennas, which have been placed underground to indicate the location of, for example, a man-
hole cover or other hard-to-find object.
