System Compliance
Despite stringent emission reduction requirements on new trucks, there are not yet
any rules or regulations for the supply of emission silencers as spare parts for Euro IV
or Euro V heavy duty vehicles.
Regardless, whether a replacement emission silencers is being delivered from the
vechicle manufacturer (OES) or the independent aftermarket (AEM), a verification
should be mandatory, and Dinex would welcome legislative regulations of this market.
The following parameters should be considered as a minimum:
Emission compliance
An efficient coating - regardless
whether it is for PM or NOx reduction
is mandatory for the optimum
performance and compliance with both
engine calibration and given emission
levels.
Back presure
The right design of silencer and
substrates ensuring the correct, low back
pressure shall ensure no deterioration
of the engine as well as a low fuel
consumption.
Noise reduction
The sufficient noise reduction must be
achieved in a given space envelope to
ensure meeting all international noise
standards.
Dinex tests and validates all designs of
emission silencers prior to launch.
We keep all data for both Dinex and OE
silencers - this includes new silencers
as well as aged silencers with several
hundred thousands kilometers in order
to benchmark the deterioration and
effect on performance over time.
