See the canyon ponds, steep cliffs, and dark woods where young Runeberg went wande-

pond area with a fire pit and a scenic outlook. There are three ponds by the trail which is
part of the 12-kilometre Runeberg nature trail. The trail is marked with blue posts.
Julmat Lammit is a nature conservation area where you get to see the effects of the ice age
on the rocks and soil and the formation of the terrain.

MAPS AND INFO kallio is the perfect place to spend a summer day. The area is naturally beautiful and an
ideal spot for photography! Papinkallio recreational area is intended for everyone’s free
recreational use, offering excellent facilities for both families and individual hikers. The area
features a well-maintained beach, and the shelter with a campfire site provides an oppor-
tunity to grill sausages and enjoy snacks while admiring the beautiful lake scenery. It is also
possible to rent a boat and explore the beautiful waters of Lake Karankajärvi or embark on
an adventure along the nature trails. The trails are well-marked and suitable for both short
walks and longer hikes.
